In an exciting development for movie lovers, Jio Studios and filmmaker Aditya Dhar have announced the re-release of the blockbuster Dhurandhar in cinemas on 13 March 2026. The film will be showcased across 500 screens worldwide with 250 in India and 250 overseas, giving fans the chance to relive the action-packed spectacle on the big screen once again.
This special re-release comes just days before the arrival of its highly anticipated sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is set to hit theatres on 18 March 2026. The move is designed to build excitement and allow audiences to reconnect with the original story before diving into the next chapter.
The Plot of Dhurandhar
The film follows the gripping journey of an Indian intelligence operative who infiltrates the Karachi, Pakistan underworld to dismantle a terror network. Based on real-world events like the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the plot sees the protagonist rise through the ranks of a gang led by a criminal gang leader to thwart attacks on India
The Cast
Dhurandhar features a stellar ensemble led by Ranveer Singh, who portrays the protagonist’s role with dual shades: Hamza Ali Mazari and Jaskirat Singh Rangi. He is joined by Akshaye Khanna as the antagonist Rehman Dakait and Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam. The intelligence side of the operation features R. Madhavan as IB chief Ajay Sanyal and Arjun Rampal as the ISI’s Major Iqbal. Supporting performances include Sara Arjun as Yalina Jamali, Rakesh Bedi as Jameel Jamali, and Saumya Tandon as Ulfat.
Other notable actors in the film include Gaurav Gera, Danish Pandor, and Manav Gohil. Most of the cast members from the first part are expected to appear in the sequel as well, along with Ashaye Khanna in flash back portions.
