CinemaCon 2026 witnessed a landmark moment as Ramayana became the first Indian film ever to be showcased at the prestigious global event. Producer Namit Malhotra and actor Yash proudly presented the epic, placing Indian cinema on the international stage.
Speaking about his experience, Malhotra described Ramayana as an “Avatar meets Gladiator moment.” He explained that the film blends the vast, visually stunning world of Avatar with the emotional depth and character‑driven storytelling of Gladiator. The vision is clear: to deliver a spectacular cinematic experience while staying rooted in human emotion, making Ramayana a universally appealing epic.
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in key roles, among others. Mounted on a staggering budget of ₹4000 crore, this mythological saga is being crafted on a scale never seen before in Indian cinema. The first installment is scheduled for release during Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027. Adding to its grandeur, the music is composed by global maestro Hans Zimmer alongside India’s legendary A. R. Rahman.
With its scale, vision, and international spotlight, Ramayana is set to redefine Indian cinema and bring one of the greatest epics to life for audiences worldwide.
