Yellamma is one of the most anticipated Telugu films of 2026. Written and directed by Venu Yeldandi, the film marks his second project after the blockbuster Balagam. What makes this project even more special is that popular music composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) is playing the lead role, making his acting debut.

DSP revealed that he agreed to do the film because he was impressed by the way producer Dil Raju approached him and by the way Venu narrated the script. Speaking about the offer, DSP shared that Dil Raju told him, “Give me just 10 days a month. I won’t disturb you beyond that. You can continue your music work, and we’ll plan the shooting schedules in a way that doesn’t affect your other commitments.” This thoughtful planning convinced DSP to take up the role.
At present, DSP is busy composing the background score for Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan and directed by Harish Shankar. The film is scheduled for release on March 26, 2026.
Produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations, Yellamma is said to focus on Telangana culture, the lives of folk artists, and their struggles. The story is expected to have a strong emotional connection to the goddess Yellamma, making it a rooted and culturally rich drama.
