The much‑awaited collaboration between director S.S. Rajamouli and superstar Mahesh Babu, titled Varanasi, is progressing with crucial scenes being filmed on a specially constructed set in Hyderabad. The schedule currently focuses on sequences featuring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
In the film, Priyanka plays Mandakini, while Mahesh takes on a dual role as Rudra and Sri Rama. The ongoing shoot is centered on the Rudra–Mandakini portions. Following this schedule, the team will film a special song, which is said to feature Mahesh alongside another Bollywood actress. Expectations are high for how grand this sequence will turn out.
With a staggering budget of ₹1300 crores, Varanasi is being produced by K.L. Narayana and S.S. Karthikeya. The teaser has already received a strong nationwide response, raising anticipation further.
The film’s music is composed by M.M. Keeravani, with the story crafted by Vijayendra Prasad and dialogues penned by Deva Katta. Notably, Varanasi is being shot entirely in IMAX format and will be released in multiple languages, making it one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema.
