The much-awaited film Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan and directed by Harish Shankar, officially opened ticket bookings in Andhra Pradesh just a few hours ago. Fans, however, are still waiting for the Telangana government’s approval regarding ticket price hikes and permission for an additional early morning show at 4 AM.
Reports suggest that the Telangana government is reluctant to allow special hikes or extra shows. This hesitation comes after the Telangana High Court criticized the government for previously permitting increased ticket rates and additional shows for films like OG, Akhanda 2, and Chiranjeevi’s Sankranti release. To avoid further complications, the government is reportedly unwilling to grant similar permissions for Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
Release Countdown
With just three days left for release, fans are eagerly waiting for bookings to open in the Nizam region, with all complications getting resolved. The film is set for a grand worldwide release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the Ugadi festival.
Entertainment, Not Politics
Director Harish Shankar has already clarified that Ustaad Bhagat Singh will not feature political themes and will showcase Pawan Kalyan purely in an entertainment mode. In the film, Pawan plays a powerful police officer, while Sreeleela and Raashi Khanna star as the heroines. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the project is being mounted on a grand scale.
Fans are now waiting with bated breath for the final word from Telangana authorities, hoping that all hurdles will be cleared before the film’s release.
