Bollywood is all set to witness some intense reviews or an eruption of a big controversy, as the makers of The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond have officially released the trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, along with its release date.
Helmed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and with Vipul Amrutlal Shah as producer, this movie moves past the limited regional context of the earlier film to examine the widespread, nationwide problem of coerced religious conversions.
The Kerala Story 2 follows three Indian women whose lives are upended by deceptive marriages, exploring themes of exploitation, lost potential, and the struggle to reclaim autonomy.
Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha, who portray the three central characters in the film. The trailer showcases three simultaneous stories focused on Hindu girls who reportedly experience pressure and religious conversion after getting involved with Muslim men. Backed by Sunshine Pictures, the film will hit theaters on February 27, 2026.
The makers claim that the stories depicted in the movie are based on almost seven months of thorough research and recorded court cases from all over India.
Released in 2023, The Kerala Story, the original film, was directed by Sudipto Sen and starred Adah Sharma, depicting a fictionalized account of women from Kerala being converted to Islam and joining ISIS forcefully.
