As fans eagerly await updates on the rural sports action drama Peddi, starring Ram Charan, rumors of a postponement have started to stir concern. Word from Telugu film industry circles suggests that Peddi will be delayed from its planned April 30, 2026, release and is now looking for a new date.
The film was originally scheduled for a March 27, 2026 release to coincide with Ram Charan’s birthday. However, the date was pushed forward to April 30 to allow for completion of production, including a special song and final post-production work. Now, the same reasons are being cited for another postponement.
Ram Charan fans have been eagerly awaiting news about North America bookings, set to open on March 27, 2026, coinciding with the actor’s birthday. They’re now waiting for that update, and if bookings open as planned, it will confirm that Peddi is on track for its April 30 release as announced.
The film Peddi features Ram Charan in the titular role. Set against the 1980s rural backdrop, the film also stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, Achiyyamma. The ensemble is bolstered by Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar in a pivotal, authoritative role, alongside versatile actors like Jagapathi Babu, Boman Irani, and Mirzapur fame Divyenndu.
The film’s music is composed by Academy Award-winner A.R. Rahman, and already the unit has released two songs, which became chartbusters. Under the direction of Buchi Babu Sana, the project is mounted on a massive scale by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, in association with Sukumar Writings and Mythri Movie Makers.
