After Mahavatar Narasimha’s success (an animated and periodic film, produced by Kleem Productions and presented by Hombale Films), Naga Vamsi had planned an ambitious project titled Vayuputra in collaboration with director Chandoo Mondeti. However, the film has now been put on hold due to budget concerns.

Reports suggest that the animated mythological saga was being envisioned on a massive scale, with a budget crossing ₹50 crore. But with Netflix offering only ₹15–20 crore for the project, the makers are hesitant to take the risk of a theatrical release without assured returns. As of now, no official word has been given, but industry insiders confirm that the project is unlikely to move forward until financial clarity is achieved.

The situation highlights a recurring challenge in the industry: following the success of recent hit movies does not always guarantee positive results. To truly score big, filmmakers often need to aim higher and work harder, rather than trying to replicate or milk the success of a genre or storyline.

Vayuputra, if revived, promises to be a landmark animated film, but for now, it remains on pause as the makers weigh the risks against the rewards.
