Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the renowned filmmaker of Bollywood, is currently making Love & War, a romantic action drama featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt in leading roles. This project has faced numerous delays during its production. As per the latest reports from Bollywood media, the shooting schedule for Love & War has been extended by another 50 days, pushing the budget to over a staggering Rs. 400 crores.
As of now, Love & War has to finish the shoot of three songs and a key sequence, and the team has already completed 175 days of shooting, according to the update. “Bhansali aims for perfection and is not content until every frame aligns with his vision. However, the ongoing production delays have inflated the budget. Initially set at Rs. 350 crore, the cost has now risen to Rs. 425 crore, making it Bhansali’s most expensive project so far,” says a closed source.
A significant portion of the funding is reportedly coming from Bhansali himself, and the actors have agreed to receive a share of the box office earnings instead of upfront fees. The film has already secured over Rs. 200 crores from non-theatrical agreements. Love & War is aiming for a theatrical release in early 2027.
