Dhurandhar 2 and Ustaad Bhagat Singh (UBS) are the two biggies slated to release for Ugadi festival on March 19th. The former will have paid premieres on March 18th itself whereas the latter is looking at having early morning shows from March 19th.
While all is good for the next week, things are looking absolutely dead at the box office, as it stands now. There are no noticeable releases on March 13th weekend in either Telugu or Hindi. The existing movies don’t look to add anything significant at the box office. In fact many stations have reported closed theaters due to lack of audience.
The holdovers failing to bring anything, the new one’s being practically non-existent gives the Ugadi release a big opportunity to score well at the box office. One hopes they have enough content to pull through the entire week, as it would be a huge relief for the exhibitors.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh brings Pawan Kalyan and Harish Shankar together after Gabbar Singh. Dhurandhar The Revenge, on the other hand, is the concluding part of Dhurandhar which rocked the Indian box office in December last year. It stars Ranveer Singh in the lead and is directed by Aditya Dhar.
