The Drishyam series is one of the most successful franchises in Indian cinema. The Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu versions have all connected strongly with their respective audiences. Now, the third installment has created tremendous excitement, but there is confusion surrounding the story of the Hindi version.
According to ongoing buzz, the Hindi version of Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, may have a different plot from the original Malayalam film led by Mohanlal. Though this has not been officially confirmed, the speculation has been circulating for several months.
However, director Jeethu Joseph, who created the original story, had earlier clarified that the main plot would remain the same in both versions. He mentioned that while the core story would not change, the treatment and presentation in Hindi would differ from the Malayalam version. The real clarity will come only after both films release in theatres.
Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam 3 is officially scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on April 2, 2026. The Hindi version will follow six months later, on October 2, 2026. Only then will audiences know whether both versions share the same storyline.
In the Hindi film, Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran reprise their roles. The cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj in important new roles, while Akshaye Khanna will not return due to creative differences.
Meanwhile, the Telugu version of Drishyam 3, which is expected to star Venkatesh, has not yet begun shooting. There has been no official update on its progress, and many believe the project may not go on floors anytime soon.
