Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was a massive success, grossing over ₹600 crores worldwide. Riding on that momentum, Rajinikanth is now busy filming Jailer 2, an action drama that has already generated huge expectations.
In a recent media interaction, Rajinikanth revealed that the film is nearing the end of production, and shooting will wrap up soon. He also mentioned that the production house will announce the official release date in the coming days. Industry buzz suggests that Jailer 2 may arrive during the Independence Day weekend, just like the first installment.
Adding to the excitement, Vidya Balan is reportedly playing a significant role, while several well‑known actors from Indian cinema will appear in supporting parts. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film features music by Anirudh Ravichander. Popular stars Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal, who made cameo appearances in the first film, will return once again. There is also strong speculation that Shah Rukh Khan might feature in a notable cameo, though neither he nor the makers have confirmed it yet.
